All About Us

KaLea Anne Black Thoits as a jewelry designer, wife, Reiki master, wood crafter, Mom, web mistress and the list goes on. She has enjoyed doing crafty artsy things for as long as she can remember. From following along with the "Happy Painter" on PBS with her chalk (since she had no oil paints) to crocheting doll blankets and making friendship pins when she was younger to writing poetry, sketching and taking quirky photographs as she progressed through her teen years, to making jewelry and crafting with wood and playing more with photography as an adult. There are always new ideas popping into her head for jewelry pieces, "costume" pieces for the renaissance faires she frequents or ways to paint the house and arrange the furniture in Feng Shui style.
After having children and deciding that it was *very* important to her to stay at home and be there for them, she realized that if she was going to make a living it would have to be in a less than 9-5 way. It started with some light book keeping for a friend and moved into doing freelance web design for The Rynborn Restaurant. (now closed). After meeting the love of her life and now partner and husband she started crafting jewelry. She started with selling to friends and on eBay then moved to creating her own website and quickly progressed to custom work and traveling to renaissance faires all over New England to set up shop in a pretty canvas tent. Specializing in hand knotted freshwater pearls and gemstones, she now works not only with jewelry but with stained glass and wood as well, making one of a kind hair forks, pens, cutting boards and more. Custom creating pieces for an individual gives her the greatest pleasure, and even more so when she is able to use her Reiki abilities to help someone either directly or through an infused piece.
Each and every day for her brings with it new ideas, opportunities and crafts to explore.
